Keller Williams MAPS Coaching Review (2026): Cost, Tiers, and Non-KW Access

Sep 10, 2026
Keller Williams MAPS Coaching Review

Keller Williams publishes what its coaching costs, which almost nobody in this industry does. Onward BOLD is $799. Mastery, the one to one tier, is $1,000 a month. Breakthrough is $450 a month. The 30-60-90 programme is $2,500 a month for three months. Those figures are on KW's own coaching site, read on 10 September 2026, and two of them have not moved since 2020.

The question this page exists to answer properly is the one nobody gets right: whether you can buy MAPS coaching if you are not a Keller Williams agent. The honest answer is that it depends on the product, KW says so explicitly for exactly one of them, and the only outright exclusion anyone can point to sits on a page KW last dated in 2016.

Quick answer
  • Onward BOLD: $799, six classes over six weeks, in person at a market centre. That price has been published nationally since at least March 2020.
  • Mastery: $1,000 a month, one to one, 42 coaching calls a year. Breakthrough: $450 a month, one to one, 24 calls a year. Both unchanged since 2020.
  • 30-60-90 and Team Leader: $2,500 a month, and both run three months.
  • Coaching Skills Camp: $799, two days, in person.
  • Not published: prices for Fast Track, Life Coaching and Productivity Coaching. The Productivity Coaching page on KW's coaching site returns a 404.
  • Non KW access: Coaching Skills Camp is explicitly open to people who are not with Keller Williams, in KW's own words. Mastery is explicitly KW only. BOLD sits in between, described as tailor made for KW agents with no exclusion clause attached.
  • The free way in: the First Step to BOLD session is offered free by market centres across the country, and you can sit through it before spending anything.

What KW MAPS is, and what changed at Keller Williams

MAPS stands for Mega Achievement Productivity Systems. It is Keller Williams' in house coaching arm, and it still exists under that name in 2026, run by Cody Gibson, who was appointed vice president of KW MAPS Coaching on 1 July 2024.

One thing worth knowing before you go looking: the old kwmaps.com address is dead and returns a 404. The live site is mapscoaching.com, and KW also lists the coaching products at thrive.kw.com. If a review sends you to kwmaps.com, it has not checked its own links.

BOLD is now Onward BOLD

Keller Williams renamed BOLD to Onward BOLD on 31 October 2024 and relaunched it. If you are comparing an older review against a current market centre page, that is why the names differ. The programme is the same lineage.

The corporate picture behind the coaching

Keller Williams announced a partnership with Stone Point Capital on 3 March 2025, and named Christopher Czarnecki chief executive and president in the same announcement, after Mark Willis departed in January 2025. Gary Keller remains co founder and executive chairman. KW does not publish the ownership percentage Stone Point took.

This matters to a coaching buyer for one reason. Keller Williams reported more than 1,000 market centers and 174,000 agents on 1 July 2024, and more than 1,000 market center offices and 159,000 affiliated agents on 17 December 2025. By my arithmetic that is 15,000 fewer agents across seventeen months. KW offers no explanation for the change, and it is worth knowing before you buy anything attached to the brand.

What MAPS coaching costs: every published price

Keller Williams puts its coaching prices on the product pages, nationally, in dollars. That is genuinely unusual and it deserves saying before anything critical follows.

Programme Format What you get Published price
Onward BOLD Group, in person 6 classes over 6 weeks $799
Mastery One to one 42 coaching calls a year $1,000 a month
Breakthrough One to one, fortnightly 24 coaching calls a year $450 a month
30-60-90 Small group 60 sessions over 90 days $2,500 a month, 3 months

mapscoaching.com product pages and thrive.kw.com/coaching, read 10 September 2026.

Two prices have not moved in six years

Keller Williams published a coaching contract terms document in 2020 that priced the Breakthrough contract at $450 a month and the Mastery contract at $1,000 a month. Both are still $450 and $1,000 in September 2026. Against six years of everything else in this business getting more expensive, that is a real point in KW's favour.

Where the $1,500 figure comes from

You will see MAPS quoted at up to $1,500 a month in comparison articles, including one on this site that I am correcting. That figure is real but it is old. The 2020 contract document priced an RD and Executive Mastery contract at $1,500 a month and a Productivity Coach Group contract at $500 a month. Neither tier appears anywhere on the 2026 site. Quoting $1,500 as a current MAPS price is quoting a tier Keller Williams no longer publishes.

One live oddity worth knowing if you go hunting. Productivity Coaching is listed as a programme on thrive.kw.com, but its page on the coaching site returns a 404. So KW is advertising a product whose own page is broken, and publishes no price for it. Ask about it on the phone rather than trying to research it.

What each tier costs per session

Keller Williams publishes the call counts alongside the prices, which lets you do a comparison the marketing does not make for you. Mastery is 42 coaching calls a year at $1,000 a month. Breakthrough is 24 calls a year at $450 a month.

Programme Annual cost Sessions included Cost per session
Breakthrough $5,400 24 calls $225.00
Mastery $12,000 42 calls $285.71
Onward BOLD $799 once 6 classes $133.17
Coaching Skills Camp $799 once 2 days $399.50 a day
30-60-90 $7,500 over 3 months 60 sessions $125.00

My arithmetic on Keller Williams' published prices and session counts, read 10 September 2026.

Two things fall out of that. Mastery costs more per call than Breakthrough, not less, so whatever the extra buys, it is not volume, and Keller Williams does not publish what the difference is. And the group programmes are dramatically cheaper per session than the one to one ones, which is the trade every coaching buyer is actually making.

What the table cannot tell you is call length, because I did not find it published for any tier. A 30 minute call and a 90 minute call are very different products at $285.71.

Onward BOLD: the price, the format, and the seven week problem

BOLD is the programme most people mean when they search for MAPS coaching, so it is worth getting the details right. Keller Williams publishes it as $799 for six classes over six weeks, group format, in person at a market centre.

That $799 is a national price, not a local one. I checked eight market centre pages. Seven of them publish no price at all. The one that does, KW Austin One, publishes $799, matching corporate exactly. So the pricing is set centrally and most market centres simply do not repeat it.

mapscoaching.com/bold, KW Outfront Magazine (25 September 2025) and eight named market centre pages, all read 10 September 2026.

The price has not changed since at least March 2020

Patrick Kearns reported the standard BOLD offering at $799 for Inman on 19 March 2020, in a story about Keller Williams pledging $20 million to reduce coaching costs. It is $799 today. More than six years at the same number is not nothing.

Six weeks or seven? Corporate says six, four market centres still say seven

Corporate says six classes over six weeks three separate ways, across the product page, the October 2024 relaunch release and Outfront in September 2025. Worth saying up front that KW's own events calendar does not match that description either, which I come back to below.

Four market centres I checked publish a seven week or seven step programme instead: KW Seven Hills in Cincinnati, KW Marquee in Edwardsville, KW Grand Rapids North, and KW Louisville. That is a stale page, not a different programme. KW's own 2010 launch release described BOLD as an intensive seven week programme, so it genuinely shortened at some point and those market centres never updated. Check the dates on the page you are booking from, not the review you read about it.

A ten year old price still live on kw.com

On kwrievents.kw.com, a Keller Williams subdomain, six separate BOLD registration pages state that "The cost of the full BOLD Experience is $899" with early bird pricing at $799 or $849. Those pages are dated January to March 2016. They are still publicly reachable in September 2026. If you find a $899 figure on a kw.com address, that is where it comes from, and it is a decade out of date. The current published price is $799.

The free first session is real, and you should use it

Seven market centres I found publish a free First Step: KW Austin One, Round Rock, KW Seven Hills, KW Marquee, KW Grand Rapids North, KW Louisville and Indy Metro Training. Where they give times it is a full working day. Round Rock publishes 9am to 2.30pm, KW Louisville 9am to 2pm, KW Austin One 9.30am to 3pm. Keller Williams' own national page for the First Step publishes no description, duration, format or eligibility at all, so the market centre is the only place to find out what you are attending.

If you are weighing BOLD against anything else, including my own real estate coaching which is why you should discount my view accordingly, go and sit through a First Step before you spend $799 anywhere. It is the cheapest due diligence available in this industry.

One thing to read carefully on booking. KW Austin One publishes a payment plan of $80 a week for ten consecutive weeks alongside the $799 lump sum, which by my arithmetic is $800, a dollar more, and it does not flag that. Its published plan runs from 16 July to 17 September 2026, while its free First Step is 24 September and its last class is 29 October. Check any plan's dates against the class dates before you sign.

What is actually running, with dates

Keller Williams publishes a live programme calendar, which is more than most coaching companies do. As of 10 September 2026 it listed 35 events. A sample of what was scheduled:

  • Coaching Skills Camp, 14 to 15 September 2026, $799
  • Inside the Buyer's Mind, a live client targeting and content clinic, 16 September 2026
  • Onward BOLD September, 21 to 25 September 2026
  • Red to Black, from survival to growth in 90 days, 22 September 2026
  • The A.G.E.N.T Advantage, 1 October 2026
  • Win the Week, strategies for time strapped agents, 8 October 2026
  • Event Mastery, Pie Day edition, 13 October 2026
  • The Complete A.G.E.N.T, six weeks to becoming a win win negotiator, 20 October 2026

Only Coaching Skills Camp carries a price on that calendar. Everything else requires a phone call or an email to find out what it costs, which is the gap between Keller Williams being unusually transparent about its main tiers and being transparent generally.

One entry that does not match the format

The calendar lists Onward BOLD September as 21 to 25 September 2026, a five consecutive day block. The product page says six classes over six weeks and several market centres say seven weeks. Three descriptions of the same programme, all published by Keller Williams or its franchisees, all live at the same time. Confirm the actual schedule with the market centre before you book time off.

Work out how many closings a tier has to pay for

Coaching is not expensive or cheap in the abstract, it is expensive or cheap against what a closing is worth to you. Pick a tier and put in your own commission. The calculator returns the annual cost and how many extra closings a year it has to produce before it has paid for itself. It uses only prices Keller Williams publishes.

MAPS break even calculator
What each tier has to earn back
What you pay, first year$0
Your commission per closing$0
0extra closings to break even

Published Keller Williams prices only, read 10 September 2026. It takes no view on whether coaching produces a closing, because nobody can promise you that. Arithmetic, not a forecast.

The reason a $799 price point is an easy yes is visible in that number. At $12,000 a closing, chosen only as a round example, a $799 one off is paid for by just under seven percent of a single closing. Mastery at $12,000 a year is a different conversation, and it should be. That is the comparison worth making before you look at what real estate coaching costs across the market.

Can you buy MAPS coaching if you are not at Keller Williams?

This is the question the search is really asking, and the reason most answers are wrong is that people look for one answer. Keller Williams does not publish one. It publishes different answers for different products, and it publishes nothing at all for several.

Programme What KW publishes about eligibility
Coaching Skills Camp Explicitly open to non KW attendees
30-60-90 States there are zero requirements to join
Team Leader States there are zero requirements to join
Onward BOLD Tailor made for KW agents. No exclusion clause published
Mastery Designed only for the highest performing KW agents
Fast Track, Life Coaching, Productivity Coaching Nothing published
Breakthrough Not stated on the pages I read

The one place Keller Williams answers it outright

On the Coaching Skills Camp page, under a heading reading Coaching Skills Camp Is for Everyone, Keller Williams writes this, and repeats it verbatim on a second page:

"Coaching Skills Camp is designed for KW agents, prospective agents, leaders, coaches, and associates at every level of experience. As a foundational business coaching course, CSC is also open to attendees who aren't affiliated with Keller Williams."
mapscoaching.com/coaching-skills-camp, read 10 September 2026

That is unambiguous. If you are not with Keller Williams and you want to buy something from MAPS, Coaching Skills Camp is the product KW has said yes to in writing. It is $799 for two days, in person.

The tell in the BOLD page

The BOLD page uses the identical heading, Onward BOLD Is for Everyone, and then does not include the sentence about people who are not affiliated with Keller Williams. It says BOLD is tailor made for KW agents, prospective agents and leaders. Outfront put it more firmly in September 2025: BOLD is geared toward Keller Williams agents and prospective agents.

Note what that does and does not say. Geared toward is not the same as restricted to, and prospective agents is a broad category that includes anyone thinking about joining. There is no current page on which Keller Williams tells a non KW agent they cannot buy BOLD.

The only real exclusion anyone can point to is dated 2016

On six BOLD registration pages on kwrievents.kw.com, Keller Williams writes: "If you have the intention of joining KW or if you've been personally invited by KW leadership, yes you may enroll in BOLD. However, you will not be able to register yourself through the website." Non KW attendees are told to phone the BOLD client care team instead. That is a conditional yes with an extra step, and it is the only actual exclusion mechanism I could find anywhere. It is also on pages dated January to March 2016, and I could find no equivalent on any page from 2024 onward.

What the contract and the terms say, which is nothing

Keller Williams' own 2020 coaching contract terms document contains no eligibility clause at all. It does not require the client to be a KW associate, and it contains no clause covering what happens if a client leaves Keller Williams. The terms of use on the coaching site, effective 21 March 2024, impose no membership requirement either. I found no newer contract published, so that silence is six years old and it cuts both ways.

The term worth knowing before you sign anything

That same 2020 document says contracts "automatically renew monthly unless Client provides written notification of termination to [email protected] in advance of the monthly billing date". Written notice, to that address, before the billing date, or it renews. For a $1,000 a month commitment that is more material than anything in the eligibility argument, and it is the sort of term that decides how much a programme actually costs you.

The contradiction inside a single Keller Williams sentence

In the 31 October 2024 relaunch release, KW says more than 4,500 cross industry agents attended what it calls the reimagined productivity coaching program, and in the same release says it is exclusively hosted across nearly 70 US based KW franchised real estate brokerages. Cross industry is Keller Williams' own word and it is not explained. Jim Dalrymple II, reporting that same release for Inman, wrote that the programme is available exclusively to Keller Williams agents and recruits, which is the opposite of what cross industry implies. I am not going to resolve that for you, because Keller Williams has not.

So what should you actually do
  • If you are not at KW and you want in: Coaching Skills Camp is the one Keller Williams has said yes to in writing.
  • If you want BOLD: phone the market centre and ask. Do not try to reason it out from the website, and do not trust a review that gives you a flat yes or no.
  • Either way: ask the market centre about a free First Step before you commit money. Keller Williams publishes no eligibility rule for that session either way, so the market centre is the only place to get an answer.
  • No non KW price is published. No Keller Williams source publishes dual pricing, so if you are quoted a different number, ask what it is for.

The outcome claims, and what KW does not publish about them

Keller Williams markets BOLD on a number, and the number has a problem. Not that it is false, which I have no way of knowing, but that nothing is published that would let anyone check it.

"BOLD clients are currently averaging 11 pieces of business, with eight under contract, during the course series."
KW Outfront Magazine, byline KWRI, 25 September 2025

The same figure appears on the MAPS about page with no qualification at all, alongside a second claim that Mastery clients sell 281 percent more homes than those not in coaching.

What Keller Williams does not publish for either figure: the sample size, the data vintage, the definition of a piece of business, the measurement window beyond during the course series, and for the 281 percent claim, any control group. A number comparing coached agents to uncoached agents without addressing who chooses coaching in the first place is not measuring what it appears to measure.

Keller Williams also publishes a different number

The October 2024 relaunch release says that since 2009, BOLD participants have secured between 8.5 and 14 new listing agreements or escrows each time they take the course. That is a range running from 2009 to the date of that release, measuring listing agreements and escrows. The other is a point estimate measuring pieces of business right now. They may well be compatible. Keller Williams never says whether they are measuring the same thing.

The version you will actually be shown

Three market centres, KW Marquee, KW Grand Rapids North and KW Louisville, all publish that BOLD graduates typically sold 11 homes in seven weeks. Corporate never says sold, never says homes and never says seven weeks. Its figure is 11 pieces of business of which eight are under contract, which is a pipeline, not eleven closed sales. If a recruiter shows you that version, they are showing you a market centre's restatement rather than Keller Williams' own claim, and the difference is most of the number.

None of this makes BOLD a bad product. It means the published evidence is a marketing claim and you should price it as one. That is the same standard I apply to Tom Ferry pricing by tier and to every other programme in how the major coaching programs compare.

One thing that is not a criticism

I went looking for the other side of this and did not find it. There is no lawsuit, no regulatory action and no complaint pattern about MAPS coaching anywhere in the reachable record. Keller Williams corporate does carry a poor Better Business Bureau profile, and not one of the complaints on it mentions coaching, BOLD, MAPS or training fees. Whatever those market centre pages overstate, the product itself has not generated a public complaint record in anything I could reach. That is an absence rather than an endorsement, and I would not oversell it, but it is a real finding and I went looking for the opposite.

MAPS against the coaching we have priced elsewhere

There are two useful comparisons here and they point in opposite directions.

Against the other brokerages, Keller Williams looks good

eXp Realty runs eXp Elevate Coaching, which it states is exclusively available for eXp Realty and Commercial Agents in the US and Canada, and which publishes no prices at all, saying only that levels of investment vary depending on the course type, duration and offering. Compass runs Coaching at Compass, describes its core programmes as complimentary to Compass agents alongside a paid marketplace where all sales are final and non refundable, and also publishes no prices.

Compass adds a disclaimer that is worth reading next to Keller Williams' statistics: it does not endorse or guarantee the quality, effectiveness or results of any coaching programme. So one brokerage publishes outcome numbers without methodology and another publishes no numbers and disclaims outcomes entirely. Of the three, Keller Williams is the only one that tells you what anything costs before you make a phone call.

expelevatecoaching.com and coachingatcompass.com, read 10 September 2026. I could not verify a national in house paid coaching programme at RE/MAX or Coldwell Banker either way, so I am not claiming one exists or does not.

Against the independents, the picture is narrower

Mastery at $1,000 a month is a serious one to one commitment, and the trade off is specific. A MAPS coach knows Keller Williams' models, scripts and market centre economics inside out, which is worth real money if you are inside KW and worth considerably less if you are not. An independent coach is not employed by the brokerage you are deciding whether to stay at, which is a difference worth weighing either way.

The other thing worth weighing is what happens if you leave. Keller Williams' published coaching contract contains no clause about what becomes of your coaching if you move brokerages, which cuts both ways: nothing says you lose it, and nothing says you keep it. If you are also weighing the Keller Williams commission split, that uncertainty belongs in the same conversation.

Who MAPS suits, and who should walk

Who it suits:

  • Keller Williams agents, straightforwardly. The programmes are built on KW's models and taught by people inside the system. That is the whole point, and it is where the KW specific content is worth most.
  • Anyone who will actually attend BOLD. At $799 for six one day classes that is $133.17 a class, the lowest per session figure of anything Keller Williams publishes.
  • Non KW agents who want a coaching skills course. Coaching Skills Camp is open to you in writing, at $799 for two days.
  • Anyone who has not been to a free First Step. Go. It costs nothing.

Who should walk:

  • Anyone buying on the eleven pieces of business number. Keller Williams publishes no methodology behind it, and three of the eight market centres I checked restate it in stronger terms than corporate uses.
  • Non KW agents wanting Mastery specifically. It is described as designed only for the highest performing KW agents. Breakthrough, the other one to one tier at $450 a month, was not stated either way on the pages I read, so that one is a phone call not a no.
  • Anyone who will not do the work between sessions. This is true of every programme in this category and it is the reason most coaching fails.
  • Anyone who needs to know exactly what they are buying. Prices for Fast Track, Life Coaching and Productivity Coaching are not published, and one of those product pages is a 404.

What this review cannot tell you

I have never been a Keller Williams agent and I have never sat in a BOLD room, so I cannot tell you what the teaching is like, whether the coach in your market centre is any good, or how it feels on week four. No review can, including the ones that claim to, because the people who publish them are almost all sponsored by somebody. What I can do is price it accurately, tell you what Keller Williams does and does not publish, and point you at the one unbiased sample available to either of us.

That sample is the free First Step. It is a full working day at the market centres that publish times, it costs nothing, and it is taught by the coach you would actually get. If you want to know whether MAPS is any good, that will tell you more in one day than every review on the internet put together, this one included.

My read is that MAPS is a competently run, unusually transparently priced brokerage coaching arm whose marketing is weaker than its product needs it to be. The prices are public and two of them have not risen in six years, which is more than most of this industry manages. The outcome statistics are the part I would not lean on, and the eligibility answer is genuinely unclear because Keller Williams has left it unclear. Go to a free First Step and decide with your own eyes. If you want a view on what to do about the rest of your business first, what people mean by a real estate program covers what these programmes are and are not.

Frequently asked questions

How much does KW MAPS coaching cost?

Keller Williams publishes national prices for most of its coaching. Onward BOLD is $799 for six classes over six weeks. Mastery, the one to one tier, is $1,000 a month for 42 coaching calls a year. Breakthrough is $450 a month for 24 calls a year. The 30-60-90 and Team Leader programmes are $2,500 a month and both run three months. Coaching Skills Camp is $799 for two days. Keller Williams publishes no price for Fast Track, Life Coaching or Productivity Coaching. All figures read from mapscoaching.com on 10 September 2026.

Can non Keller Williams agents do MAPS coaching?

It depends on the product and Keller Williams only answers it outright for one. Coaching Skills Camp is explicitly open to people who are not affiliated with Keller Williams, in KW's own words. Mastery is described as designed only for the highest performing KW agents. Onward BOLD is described as tailor made for KW agents but carries no exclusion clause on any current page. The only outright restriction Keller Williams has ever published sits on BOLD registration pages dated 2016, which say a non KW agent may enrol if they intend to join KW or have been invited by KW leadership, but must register by phone rather than online.

How much is BOLD and how long does it take?

Onward BOLD is $799, published nationally by Keller Williams. The corporate format is six classes over six weeks, in person at a market centre. Be aware that several market centres still publish a seven week or seven step version, because BOLD was originally a seven week programme and those pages were never updated. Check the dates on the page you are booking from.

Is the first BOLD session really free?

Yes at all seven market centres I found publishing it: KW Austin One, Round Rock, KW Seven Hills, KW Marquee, KW Grand Rapids North, KW Louisville and Indy Metro Training. Where those pages give times it runs a full working day, for example 9am to 2.30pm at Round Rock. Keller Williams runs a national page for the First Step but publishes no description, duration, format or eligibility on it, so ask the market centre what you are actually attending.

Is KW MAPS coaching worth it?

That depends entirely on what a closing is worth to you and whether you will do the work. At a commission of $12,000 a closing, chosen only as a round example, BOLD at $799 is paid for by just under seven percent of one closing, which is a low bar. Mastery at $12,000 a year needs one full extra closing before it breaks even, which is a real decision. Keller Williams publishes outcome statistics for BOLD but publishes no methodology behind them, so treat those figures as marketing rather than evidence.

Is KW MAPS still running in 2026?

Yes. KW MAPS Coaching operates under that name at mapscoaching.com, with Cody Gibson appointed vice president of the division on 1 July 2024. The older kwmaps.com address is dead and returns a 404. BOLD was renamed Onward BOLD on 31 October 2024, which is why older reviews and current market centre pages sometimes use different names for the same programme.

Does BOLD really produce 11 pieces of business?

Keller Williams publishes that figure, stating that BOLD clients are currently averaging 11 pieces of business with eight under contract during the course series. It publishes no sample size, no measurement window, no definition of a piece of business and no data vintage. A separate Keller Williams release states that since 2009 participants have secured between 8.5 and 14 new listing agreements or escrows each time they take the course, which is a different measure that KW never reconciles with the first. Keller Williams itself never uses the words sold or homes and never says seven weeks, so treat any version phrased that way as a market centre restatement rather than the company's own figure.
